TH-G: Tour of The Autry Museum

The tour this year is to the Autry Museum in Griffith Park. The Autry is western heritage museum with permanent and temporary exhibits covering a wide range of topics that relate to the history of the American West. The Autry's collection of over 500,000 pieces of Western art and artifacts is one of the largest and most significant in the United States. The museum presents exhibits of Western art including Native American art and artifacts, film memorabilia, historic firearms, paintings, and more (www.theautry.org). The guided docent tour will provide time to wander about the Museum to spend in areas that pique your interest. Transportation will be provided between the Marriott and the Autry Museum. Meet at the NW corner of the Convention Center.

Registration and payment is required. In the event that the trip is cancelled due to low attendance, the registration fee will be refunded by check and mailed by the end of July.

Note: Due to overlapping times, those attending the Tour of The Autry Museum cannot also attend the Thursday DNA Luncheon. The Crossroads West Cafe at the Autry will be available for lunch or a snack, and the Concession Food Stand on the Green near the Marriott Convention Center will be open until 3:00 PM on Thursday.

FR-F: SCGS Research Tour

The Southern California Genealogical Society exists to foster interest in family history and genealogy, preserve genealogical materials, and provide instruction in accepted and effective research techniques. With over 40,000 volumes, the SCGS Library holds one of the largest genealogical collections in the southwestern United States. Collections include family histories, periodicals, maps, microfilm as well as vital records, cemetery records, local and state histories.

The SCGS Family Research Library will open Friday morning for Jamboree registrants. The Society's online databases and computers will be available for use.

Transportation will be provided between the Marriott and the SCGS Library. Meet at the NW corner of the Convention Center. Feel free to arrange your own private transportation if you want a more flexible schedule. The SCGS Family Research Library is about 1.5 miles from the Marriott, and driving instructions are available in the Convention Center.
